Does Garmin Provide Free Map Updates. You wont get it for free unless you obtain it illegally. I do believe you can download software updates for the mapsource software and updates for the firmware for the gps.
Garmin offers free “lifetime” maps… just not your life. Well, no wonder garmin is the leader of creating of satellite navigation. Honda vehicles with garmin supplied navigation can receive updates through this portal.

I mean maybe you can try this and see if it works (fat chance i know, but still): From within the application, users can decide when new map updates are to take place. Maybe it's still garmin, but it's packaged by honda so they can milk you more? They can get free map updates from here with the mapcare program.
